Welcome to Labyrinth Center's TEEN BMP Project Page

Teen Environmental Enhancement Network

Beginning April 2005, labyrinth Center will begin to launch a teen based operation to help with new Lake Tahoe environmental standards called Best Management Practices, or BMP's. Every house and building in the Lake Tahoe Basin must bring their landscaping up to this new criteria, and thus far most homeowners have found the cost prohibitive.

We at Labyrinth Center believe that we can combine enthusiastic teens looking for meaningful work with local contractors to help provide a less expensive model for local homeowners. Also, for students participating on a work-study model for school credit in lieu of pay, this will create an even less expensive model for the elderly and disabled residents. A win-win situation giving teens real-life employment skills, opportunities to learn skills other than fast food and retail stores, and helping their community at the same time.
