Youth Delivery Services

A number of activities related to creating youth employment while also offering needed services to the senior/disabled community. Below are some of the tracks we are considering:

1. Youth Delivery Service--A service by elder teens to deliver prescriptions and medications to seniors and disables people.

2. High school class to build a house for school credit, then use the profit from the sale of the house to build additional homes. Because there is little labor in the house construction, the selling price can be much less than normal, offering an antidote to escalating real estate prices. The youth get very applicable vocational skills from building a house from start to finish, as well as school credit. Additional options incluse giving some of the profit to the youth.

3. Creating youth landscaping crews to assist in bringing Tahoe homeowners less expensive Best Managemnt Practices (BMP's) construction models.

4. Using youth labor, via a classroom format, to build access ramps for seniors and disabled persons who cannot afford such modifications to their homes.
